“Bill 148 has brought and continues to bring about the most significant reforms to employment laws in over two decades. While some of the changes took effect in January 2018 and earlier, more changes are taking effect in April 2018 and January 2019.
In January, the Board held its first event on Bill 148, which focused on outlining the changes. Based on the popularity and response to this sold-out event, on April 17, 2018, we will be holding a follow-up Bill 148 seminar. While this session acts as compliment to the first session, an overview of the first session will be provided at the outset of the second session to ensure everyone is up to speed.
At our second Bill 148 presentation, our speakers will focus on providing practical advice, sample HR materials, and tools to mitigate some of the impacts of the legislation. Christine Ashton and Yohaan Thommy are both leaders in their respective areas of Employment Law and Business Growth & Productivity and will be sharing with our members their materials, tool kits, and best practices which their clients have used to solve some of the challenges the new legislation has presented in their business.
