Heather practises corporate and commercial law in the Business Law Group. In addition to providing general corporate advice to clients, Heather has extensive expertise in negotiating and implementing commercial transactions including shareholder arrangements, acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, reorganizations and strategic alliances (including partnerships, joint ventures, law firm structuring as well as structuring for medical professionals).
Heather has a sub-specialty in shareholder and partnership disputes and has a depth of experience in dealing with the intricacies and strategy for shot-gun transactions.
Heather’s practice also encompasses e-commerce matters including trade-mark prosecution, software licensing and advising on matters for software developers, hardware vendors, IT service providers and companies where business relies on technology.
Involvement & Recognition
Heather currently sits on the Practical Law Canada Corporate and Commercial Transactions Advisory Board and is a Co-President of the York Region M&A Club. She is also a registered trade-mark agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
Heather spends her spare time training her dressage horses and enjoys spending weekends at the cottage.
